Set it at the height where your dog's head sits comfortably when they're standing relaxed. They shouldn't need to raise or lower their head much at all to reach the spout. For most medium to large breeds, this is around 18–22cm. Start higher and lower it gradually until you find the sweet spot.
My dog won't use the spout — what should I do?
Some senior dogs take 1–3 days to learn a new drinking method, especially if they're used to bowl drinking. Try placing a small amount of water in the base bowl to attract them initially. Once they make contact with the spout, they'll understand the mechanism. If after 7 days they're still not using it, email us and we'll help troubleshoot — or refund you.
Is it suitable for large breeds?
Yes , the base is wide and stable enough for large breeds like Labradors and German Shepherds. The maximum spout height of 25cm works well for dogs with a standing neck height of up to about 35cm.
